What's new or changing?

For 2027, we put even more focus on you, with enhancements designed to give you more support where you need it most.

More virtual care support

Costs for everything continue to rise, and we’re all feeling the impact. We have worked to keep increases to our medical plan premiums as manageable as possible while continuing to offer quality coverage.

As costs change and you compare plans, think about what you and your family may need next year—not just the amount per paycheck.

As always, rates will be available in the Benefits Guide.

New voluntary benefit options

Optional whole life, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and accident coverage provide a financial benefit paid directly to you when a covered illness, injury, or hospital stay occurs. This is available to you whether or not you’ve enrolled in medical coverage.

RxSaveCard for eligible GLP-1 medications

To better manage your access to certain GLP-1 medications for weight loss, you’ll use the RxSaveCard program if you’re eligible. The program uses a dedicated account to help cover the cost of eligible medications.

If you’re already approved for and taking an eligible GLP-1 medication for weight loss, your monthly copay may change under the new program.

Personalized enrollment decision support

The AmeriHealth Caritas Benefits Portal has enhanced your enrollment experience with even more personal insights and guidance to help you select your plans. You’ll see these features as options available once the enrollment window opens.

One place for your pre-tax accounts

Beginning in 2027, HealthEquity will administer all HSAs, FSAs, and commuter benefits, bringing all pre-tax accounts together in one place and onto one convenient card (with the exception of the Dependent Care FSA). If you’re enrolled in an HDHP plan, you will have access to a new Limited Purpose FSA (LPFSA) to set aside additional pre-tax dollars for qualified dental and vision expenses while continuing to contribute to your HSA. New pre-tax account limits

For HSA accounts, you’ll now be able to contribute up to $4,500 for associate-only coverage or $9,000 for family coverage in 2027. For FSAs, once the new limits are finalized, we will update the FSA contribution limits for the 2027 plan year to reflect the new limits. You’ll receive information about the final limits and any updates to your elections once they are available.

What happens if you don’t take action during Open Enrollment?

If you’re enrolled in a medical or dental plan, your current coverage— and coverage for your enrolled dependents—will continue into 2027. Any new premium costs will show in your January paycheck.

Some benefits, such as FSAs and HSAs, and certain voluntary benefits, may need a new election each year. When it’s time to enroll, make sure you have the coverage you want. It’s also a good time to make sure your list of dependents is still accurate.
